The World Bank energy team is visiting the Republic of Moldova from March 6 to 10. One of the main objectives of the visit is the restructuring of the second Project for Improving the Efficiency of the Centralized Thermal Energy Supply System in Chișinău (PIESACET-2), including the revision of procurement packages and timelines for the planned activities.
The first working visit took place today, March 6, at Termoelectrica S.A. — the beneficiary institution of PIESACET-2.
The meeting was attended by Pekka Kouri, the World Bank’s technical consultant, representatives of the project implementation team from the Consolidated Unit for Implementation and Monitoring of Energy Projects (UCIPE), led by director Aurelia Samson, as well as representatives of Termoelectrica S.A., together with the interim general director, Vasile Leu.
In the context of the Project restructuring, the parties reviewed performance indicators and updated the planned target values.
The mission will continue with meetings and consultations within government institutions, site visits, and other thematic meetings regarding the implementation of the second Project for Improving the Efficiency of the Centralized Thermal Energy Supply System in Chișinău.
