Project “Energy Efficiency in the Republic of Moldova”
UCIPE has obtained the decision from the Environmental Agency regarding the preliminary environmental impact assessment of the planned activities within the “Energy Efficiency in the Republic of Moldova” project, which aims to improve energy efficiency in public buildings across the country.
Accordingly, the Environmental Agency issued a decision stating that there is no need to carry out an environmental impact assessment nor to issue an ecological expertise approval for the planned works: Environmental Agency Decision.
We mention that within the project, rehabilitation works will be carried out on building envelopes, renovation of interior lighting, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to make them more energy-efficient through the integration of renewable energy sources, as well as the implementation of energy management practices.
The total project value is approximately 76.9 million euros, of which 30 million euros are allocated by the European Investment Bank (EIB), 30 million euros by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), 15 million euros from the European Union, 0.5 million euros from the Eastern Partnership Technical Assistance Trust Fund (EPTATF), and about 1.4 million euros from the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
In implementing the project, UCIPE will undertake all necessary measures to comply with the requirements set forth by the legislation of the Republic of Moldova and the operational policies of the financiers.
