Bid Opening Session Held for the International Tender on the Procurement of Design, Construction, and Installation Services for the 400 kV Overhead Power Transmission Line (LEA) from Vulcănești to Chișinău
The bid opening session was held as part of the international tender for the procurement of design, construction, and installation services for the 400 kV Overhead Power Transmission Line (LEA) between Vulcănești and Chișinău. The planned works are a component of the Power System Development Project (PSDP) in Moldova, financed by the World Bank and implemented with the support of UCIPE.
The high-voltage line between Vulcănești and Chișinău will be a strategic element of a broader project aimed at modernizing the national energy system and interconnecting it with the European electricity grid. The length of the line will be approximately 158 km, and the construction period is estimated at around 42 months from the contract signing.
Ten companies from various countries—including Romania, Turkey, China, Russia, India, and Kazakhstan—submitted bids in the tender organized by UCIPE, in accordance with the World Bank Procurement Regulations.
Representatives of the bidding companies had the opportunity to participate in the session either in person or by joining the teleconference organized by UCIPE. In the coming period, the evaluation of the technical and financial proposals will take place.
In addition to the construction of the Vulcănești–Chișinău overhead line, the PSDP also includes the construction of a Back-to-Back converter station in Vulcănești, the extension of the 400 kV Vulcănești substation, and the modernization of the 330 kV Chișinău substation. These works form part of the technical infrastructure managed by the State Enterprise “Moldelectrica,” the national electricity transmission system operator and beneficiary of the PSDP.
