Several public institution buildings were reconnected to the Chișinău District Heating System (SACET) before the start of the 2018–2019 heating season.
These include the buildings of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection, the Republican Clinical Hospital, and the State Residence.
Between 2016 and 2018, approximately 19 institutions benefited from investments under the District Heating Efficiency Improvement Project, resulting in the installation of 75 Individual Heating Points (PTIs) and associated thermal networks.
Reconnecting the buildings under public institutions to the municipal SACET network supports the ongoing reform of the energy sector and improves the efficiency of the thermal energy supply system in Chișinău by increasing the thermal load in the network and boosting system performance (which may allow for a future review of the heating tariff for end consumers).
Thus, UCIPE and Termoelectrica S.A., with the support of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, continue their efforts to facilitate the reconnection of public institutions to the SACET network — an objective of the C1.3 works contract under the SACET Efficiency Improvement Project, implemented with financial support from the World Bank.
