Did you know that during peak hours – in the morning, between 7:00 and 11:00, and in the evening, between 18:00 and 23:00 – high energy consumption can increase costs and overload the electrical grid? But that unused appliances - in standby mode - consume about 10% of energy?
See below some simple but useful tips that will help you reduce energy consumption:
- Avoid using multiple electrical appliances simultaneously
- Install LED bulbs – they consume 75% less energy and have a longer lifespan
- Turn off the lights in rooms where no one is present
- Unplug unused appliances – in standby mode they consume about 10% of energy
- Use appliances that do not require supervision at night when demand is lower and imported energy is cheaper
- Fully load the dishwasher or clothes washer
- Set the heating to a moderate temperature: if you reduce the heating temperature at night, will you reduce consumption, and therefore the bill, by up to 10%?
- Set the water boiler temperature between 30 and 50C to save up to 15%
- Insulate the roof and walls: this way you will reduce energy consumption by up to 30%
The result? Energy savings and lower bills.
It's simple, but effective.
